METRO China Supplies Food to Beijing Olympic Games

In the just concluded 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, the world shared the high standard and unique great games. With the leading food safety management as well as the recognition from government, METRO China has been assigned by local governments of host and co-host cities as the food supplier during the games. The worldwide leading wholesaler has completed the tasks with great success and made its contribution to the Games.

According to a recent report from Xinhua News Agency, watchdog from the Olympic food safety inspection team have monitored more than 1.6 million shares of food and not a single food safety accident has been reported so far, which indicates great success of food safety management during the Games.

To accomplish the success of Olympic goods supply, under the coordination and guidance of Quality Assurance, Buying, Security and Logistics Departments of headquarters, 7 METRO stores established special working teams with the Store General Managers as the heads. Working closely with local authorities, METRO China has built a sound security system in terms of food safety, anti-terrorism and anti-doping at its core.

As per an incomplete statistics, the Olympics food supply helped METRO China enhance its turnover.
