Around christmas METRO Cash & Carry organizes several charity events. Here are just some examples of the country's activities.

METRO Cash & Carry India supports Mother Teresa Charity

In December 2007, during Christmas time, METRO Cash & Carry India visited the Mother Teresa’s Missionaries of Charity in Mumbai. Despite the busiest time of the commercial year, METRO Cash & Carry India wanted to share the basics of food and comfort of care with those who are socially less privileged. The donations included cereals, pulses, oils and spices. The total donation amounted to about 1,700 euros.

METRO Cash & Carry Serbia: Support for autistic children

In the last week of December 2007 METRO Cash & Carry Serbia supported the “Association for help to autistic persons” by donating sweets for autistic children. In return the children made Christmas cards for METRO Cash & Carry Serbia, which were used as decoration for a Christmas tree. In future METRO Cash & Carry will stay in close contact whit this organization, as there is a strong need for support.
